# Photo credits

Every photo shipped in `public/img` is a freely-licensed image sourced from
Wikimedia Commons and cropped/compressed for the web. Attribution is legally
required for all of them. The visible credit lives in the site footer, which
links here.

These are placeholders for *real customer books*. Swap them out as soon as
there are photos of actual orders.

## Note on the one ShareAlike image

`themes/jaipur.*` is **CC BY-SA 4.0**. A crop is a derivative work, so that
cropped file must itself be offered under CC BY-SA 4.0. The obligation attaches
to the image only — it does not affect the site's code or any other content.

If you would rather avoid ShareAlike entirely, there are plain CC BY
alternatives of the Hawa Mahal on Commons that can be dropped in without any
other change: see [Category:Hawa Mahal](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Hawa_Mahal).

The send-off photo carries the photographer's mark in its top-right corner in
the original; the shipped crop excludes it. If you re-crop from source, keep
that corner out of frame.
